Eye magnets (15)
An eye magnet is a pot magnet with a mounting eye. It makes it easy to attach a rope, chain, cable or carabiner to a steel surface. We supply eye magnets from Ø10 to Ø60 mm with a holding power of approx. 5 to 96 kg, and rubber versions from Ø43 to Ø88 mm (approx. 14 to 55 kg), also with a stainless steel eye.

Eye or hook?
The standard eye magnets and hook magnets are the same pot magnet: an eye or a hook is screwed into the threaded bush on top. Pot, dimensions and holding power are identical for the same diameter. An eye gives a secure, lasting attachment: the rope or carabiner cannot slip off. A hook is handier if you often hang things up and take them down again. Read more in Hook magnet or eye magnet? Good to know
The holding power is measured perpendicular to a thick, flat steel plate. A thin plate, paint or sideways load greatly reduce the holding power, so allow a generous margin. Eye magnets are not lifting equipment: never use them to lift loads above or near people. More explanation in Which eye magnet should you choose?
Frequently asked questions
Can I use an eye magnet outdoors?
Yes. For outdoor use or damp conditions, choose a rubber eye magnet with a stainless steel eye; it is the most resistant to rust.
How tall is an eye magnet including the eye?
Each product lists the height of the pot and the total height including the eye. Check the latter if space is limited.
Does an eye magnet work on stainless steel or aluminium?
No. Aluminium is not magnetic, and most types of stainless steel are hardly or not magnetic either.
