Plastic-coated magnets (11)
Plastic-coated magnets are neodymium magnets that are completely enclosed in a plastic layer. The coating protects the magnet against moisture and impacts, prevents scratches on the surface it is placed against, and provides grip. Here you will find disc magnets Ø16 x 6 mm in four colours, and ring and block magnets with a drilled/countersunk hole for screwing in.

The plastic layer creates a small gap to the steel, which means the holding force is slightly lower than that of a bare magnet of the same size. The stated holding force is measured under ideal conditions; in practice, it is lower. Read how holding force is determined.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use plastic-coated magnets outdoors?
Yes. Because the magnet is completely enclosed, it is well resistant to rain and moisture. If the plastic layer is damaged, for example by over-tightening, the magnet may start to rust.
Which screw fits in the countersunk hole?
A screw with a flat countersunk head; the correct size is stated with each product. Tighten it just enough and no further, so that the coating and the magnet remain intact.
Do they scratch whiteboards or lacquered steel?
No, the plastic layer is soft on the surface. That is why the coloured disc magnets are popular on whiteboards and noticeboards.
What is the difference with epoxy or rubber?
Epoxy is a thin layer of paint over the magnet, rubber mainly provides grip and scratch protection. Plastic coating completely encloses the magnet and therefore protects it best against moisture and impacts.
Can I order them for office noticeboards or outdoor projects?
Yes. The coloured disc magnets are often ordered in larger quantities for noticeboards, and the ring magnets with countersunk holes for outdoor projects. Volume discounts apply to larger quantities, and businesses order on account or request a quote. Business orders.
When will my order be shipped?
Ordered and paid for on working days before 16:00, it will be shipped the same working day if in stock. Free shipping within the Netherlands from €45. Consumers have a 30-day cooling-off period.
