Legal Warranty

All Magnetenspecialist products come with a legal warranty. This means that a product must meet the reasonable expectations you may have of it.

If a product is defective upon receipt or does not match the order, please contact us as soon as possible.

Properties of Magnets

Magnets are technical products whose lifespan and performance depend on the material, application, and usage conditions.

Neodymium Magnets with NiCuNi Coating

Most neodymium magnets are coated with a nickel-copper-nickel (NiCuNi) coating. This coating protects the magnet against corrosion, but it is not completely watertight.

Corrosion can occur if the coating is damaged, or if the magnet is exposed to moisture, condensation, salt water, or aggressive environments for extended periods. This is a material property and is not covered by the warranty.

Epoxy Coated Magnets

Epoxy coated magnets offer better protection against moisture and corrosion than standard NiCuNi coated magnets. However, this coating can also be damaged by wear, impact, scratches, or prolonged exposure to harsh conditions.

Rubber and Plastic Encased Magnets

Rubber coated and plastic encased magnets offer additional protection against moisture, damage, and wear. The lifespan depends on the application, load, weather conditions, and usage conditions.

Safe Use of Magnets

Strong magnets should always be handled with care.

Magnets can cause damage to:

  • electronic equipment
  • mobile phones
  • computers and laptops
  • hard drives
  • bank cards and magnetic cards
  • measuring equipment

medical implants such as pacemakers.

Therefore, always keep strong magnets at a sufficient distance from such devices.

Neodymium Magnets are Brittle

Neodymium magnets are very powerful, but at the same time relatively brittle.

If two magnets snap together uncontrollably or strike a metal surface, damage, chipping, or breakage can occur.

This is a normal characteristic of strong neodymium magnets and not a manufacturing defect.

Therefore, we recommend:

  • carefully removing magnets from their packaging
  • keeping strong magnets separated from each other
  • maintaining sufficient distance between magnets

not allowing magnets to snap together.

Safety Information

Additional safety information is provided with many strong magnets. Customers must carefully read and follow these safety instructions.

Damage resulting from not following safety instructions is not covered by the warranty.

What is Not Covered by Warranty?

Warranty does not apply to:

  • breakage due to dropping, impact, or collisions
  • chipping of neodymium magnets
  • damage caused by magnets snapping together or against metal surfaces
  • damage to coatings due to use, wear, or impact
  • corrosion or rust formation due to moisture, condensation, salt water, or chemical influences
  • normal wear and tear of coatings, rubber, or plastic parts
  • damage due to incorrect assembly
  • damage due to incorrect use
  • damage due to storage under unsuitable conditions
  • damage caused by overloading a magnet

damage that occurs because a magnet is used for an application for which it is not suitable.
