AlNiCo or neodymium?
AlNiCo is an alloy of aluminium, nickel and cobalt. These magnets are less strong than neodymium, which makes them safe and easy to handle in the classroom, and they cope well with heat. Frequently asked questions
How do I store an AlNiCo magnet?
AlNiCo can lose strength through strong opposing fields or hard impacts. Store a horseshoe magnet with a steel keeper across the poles, and do not keep it between other strong magnets.
Are these magnets suitable for children?
Under supervision, yes. Magnets are not toys: small magnets can be swallowed and strong magnets can pinch fingers.
