Neodymium pot magnet Ø25 x 7 mm, grade N40, steel pot with NiCuNi coating, with M5 threaded insert. Holding force approx. 18 kg.
Powerful: suitable for workshops and assembly, molds and fixtures, plates and heavier objects. The steel pot concentrates the magnetic force on the flat front side, so a pot magnet on steel has much more holding force than the same magnet without a pot. With the internal thread (threaded insert), you screw the magnet onto a bolt or threaded stud, for example in a construction, display or piece of furniture. Which pot magnet do you choose?
The holding force is measured under ideal conditions on a flat steel plate; in practice, the actual holding force is lower. Read how holding force is determined.
Approx. 18 kg, pulled perpendicularly from thick, flat steel with direct contact with the flat front side. On thin sheet steel, through paint or with an air gap, the holding force is considerably lower, and sideways it holds only a fraction of that.
An M5 bolt or threaded stud. Tighten it by hand or slightly, so that the threaded insert is not damaged.
A magnet only adheres to magnetic steel. Aluminum and many types of stainless steel are not or barely magnetic. Test this with a small magnet, or use a steel backing plate.
The NiCuNi coating is intended for dry indoor use. For outdoor or on painted surfaces, pot magnets with rubber coating are more suitable.

Magnets are not toys and should be kept out of reach of children. Keep strong magnets away from pacemakers, electronics and bank cards. Powerful magnets can snap hard against each other or against metal; keep your fingers away.
According to the data provided by the manufacturer, this product complies with the European REACH Regulation.

Neodymium magnets are very powerful and can bounce off each other and/or iron objects at high speed. The force increases as the magnet gets larger, which also increases the risk of breakage. Two of the larger magnets in our range are powerful enough to break fingers or at least cause a few large blisters.
Therefore, wear work gloves and keep magnets away from children. Also, keep Neodymium (NdFeB) magnets at a safe distance from people with pacemakers. This also applies to electronic devices and payment cards.
Neodymium magnets are still the most powerful magnets available today. Our super-strong magnets also remain magnetic virtually indefinitely, provided they are not exposed to the maximum operating temperature or are used with opposite poles.
The letters and numbers in the material coding have the following meaning: The N stands for Neodymium, the subsequent digits indicate the maximum magnetic energy expressed in MgOe. If there are no further letters after this, the magnet can be used up to 80 degrees Celsius.
If there are still letters behind it, it can reach a higher temperature.
We indicate adhesive force in grams or kilograms because this appeals to more people than Newton. The indicated force is measured perpendicular to the magnet. The adhesive force is the force required to pull a smooth, flat steel object (ST37) at least 10 millimeters thick from the magnet in question.
This force quickly diminishes when, for example, there's a gap or layer of paint between the magnet and the object. Even half a millimeter can reduce the force by half. A steel alloy or a rough surface also significantly reduces the holding force.
As mentioned, the direction of the adhesive force is perpendicular to the magnet, but the shear force is much smaller and also depends on the friction between the magnet and the object.
