What is this magnet used for?

Powerful: suitable for workshops and assembly, holding tools, jigs and fixtures, and heavier doors, panels and displays. The rectangular shape provides a flat contact surface, useful for installation in slots and against flat surfaces. The countersunk hole allows for mounting with countersunk screws. In this version, the south pole is on the countersunk side. If you want two magnets to attract each other, combine a north pole version with a south pole version; two identical versions will repel each other. For securing heavy parts: distribute multiple magnets across the surface. Also suitable for steel doors: read Epoxy coated magnets in steel doors. Which block magnet should you choose?

The holding force is measured under ideal conditions on a flat steel plate; in practice, the actual holding force is lower. Read how holding force is determined.
